World Cooking Day(Indian Curry)

There are many foreign postdoctoral researchers (PD) from 13 countries at TTI. At this event, a PD from India showed us how to make Indian curry. He brought several kinds of spices and the smell was really enticing. Participants made curry from the scratch. Indian curry tastes different from the Japanese curry. Our host also shared his insights into Indian cultures and languages, which made the experience even more interesting. The participants were very interested in learning about another culture.

English Night

The purpose of English Night was to recreate the experience of a bar/cafe in the U.S., Canada, England, etc. The participants learned useful words and phrases in English when they ordered food and drink from a bartender. They even learned the custom of tipping. Aside from the bar counter, we prepared several board games. Some students worked as dealers and explained the game rules in English to the participants.

Christmas Party

Participants mingled and chatting and at the sometime enjoyed Christmas dishes and drinks. Then we had an exciting event, Christmas gift exchange. It seemed that all participants were happy with the gifts they received We wrapped up the party with singing some Christmas songs to live music.

Excursion to Inuyama City

Our group visited Inuyama Castle and Urakuen(Japanese Garden) and then we walked through Inuyama Castle town. It was the first time to visit Inuyama for foreign students, so they enjoy the excursion and learning Japanese culture.
